As a therapist, I serve individuals, adolescents, couples and families. I work to provide a nurturing and secure atmosphere of trust while establishing a "partnership" with you regarding your care. During our time together you will find a place to feel heard, understood, and supported. I will utilize a variety of interventions based on each individual's needs. As we journey in the therapeutic process together, we will take a look at building on your current strengths, identifying areas of growth and setting goals for future desired outcomes in your life.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the state of Washington. I completed my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. I have been certified in Couples Communication, received training from the Gottman Institute, and I am a certified facilitator for Prepare/Enrich which is a nationally recognized inventory and skill building program for couples. I specialize in working with couples, premarital, families, individuals, and adolescents. Specific areas of interest include: communication, anxiety, grief, depression, self-esteem, trauma, conflict resolution, behavioral issues, parenting support, adjustment difficulties, pre-marital counseling, and affair recovery.
My approach to counseling is through a systemic lens which means there are many factors that I take into consideration for the presenting issues. I also use Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Narrative, Experiential, and Structural Family Therapy in my work. I currently work at Meridian Counseling Services located in Kent, WA.
