Overview:

I’ve been providing counselling to individuals and families now for over 25 years. I am best known for 15 years of providing general mental health services to children, teens, and their parents and families through a local out-patient mental health service, CMHC/CMHA, before leaving to pursue my private practice.  I work from my country home office, west of Elora and just north of Guelph.  I am a Registered Social Worker with the OCSW&SSW

Approach:

I pride myself on helping good people who just need someone there to understand, support, and guide them on their path.  I have great respect for those who are strong enough to reach out for help on their life journey when things get too hard to deal with on their own.  I see you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to share my knowledge and experience to help you make decisions that will move you forward.  I offer an individual treatment approach tailored to your particular situation.  This is not a cookie cutter approach.  You are unique and what you need is likely unique to who you are.

In order to best help you, I bring a multitude of resources.  I bring not only the benefit of my many years of schooling, my ongoing education via conferences, workshops and avid reading; and over 25 years of experience working with over 2000 clients, (many of these being families and/or youth).  In addition, personal life experiences also contribute to what I bring to help my clients.  These include dealing with fertility issues, in-vitro fertilization, separation & divorce issues, (helping me help you both to in deciding your path forward, as well as supporting you through these issues) negotiating family conflict and struggles, co-parenting after divorce, parent alienation, and of course men's issues.  I believe it's important to keep learning, and strive to incorporate newly acquired knowledge into the bigger picture, to help you move forward towards being the healthiest and happiest individual you can be.
