What is your relationship like with yourself? Do you love yourself? Or, are your thoughts filled with negativity? If you're stuck in a rut or stuck in your head, I can help.

As a caring and empathetic licensed, board certified professional counselor, I specialize in YOU and helping you foster positive feelings and relationship with yourself. I believe the most important relationship people can have, is with themselves. When the relationship with ourselves is positive and healthy, it allows us to experience other relationships positively- such as with our spouse or partner, work, school, family and with our peers. I provided a safe, trusting, non-judgmental environment in which I can help you discover and address the presenting problems internally, and externally, that are causing you distress.

Emotions are the foundation in which think, feel and behave. They can override thoughts, transform relationships and profoundly influence behavior.  When we are not equipped to effectively handle our emotions, it leads to distress, which can feed into unhappy relationships. Through the utilization of evidenced-based practices, I'll teach you how to enhance and call upon own emotional intelligence, harnessing your power to understand yourselves by providing tools to control troublesome thoughts, and manage difficult emotions. These skills combined will in turn, help you overcome life's challenges and go forward in building stronger relationships. In learning these skills, one can quickly reduce stress in the moment, and remain comfortable enough with their emotions to react in constructive ways.

When working with couples I focus on emotional awareness of what you and your partner are experiencing, together - and how you make positive meaning of those experience, and how to forgive the painful ones. Thirty years of research shows us that Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy  (EFT) has a 90% success rate in helping couples reattach and re-bond to each other.   Couples will learn to identify and understand their negative communication cycle during conflict, implement conflict resolution skills, and identify their own and their partner’s emotional needs. We will build and strength attachments bonds, develop trust and regain intimacy, effectively communicate, and improvement in non-verbal communication. Typically speaking, EFT helps couples in just a few sessions to resolve conflict and start rebuilding their relationship, rather than years of counseling. And, often times, EFT can repair what other therapies weren't able to repair or get to.
