Hello! My name is Emily!
My approach involves supporting you to develop an understanding of your experience, relationships, and emotions - this often involves sharing the science behind what you are experiencing. Once we have an understanding of your experience, together we can work through the emotions and resolve them, which allows life to feel more manageable.
Whether you have experience with therapy, are a new-comer, are chatty, or are unsure where to start, my conversational approach to therapy can help to get you unstuck and back on the road to mental wellness.
I can help with:
ADHD • Anger • Anxiety • Depression • Grief • Justice-Involvement • Overwhelm • Relationship Issues • Self-Harming Behaviour • Trauma • or provide support to loved ones of someone coping with these issues.
What you can expect:
Exploring what brings you to therapy and what has happened to you in the past will be a great starting point for us to map out and start understanding your current experience. I want to hear your story to help develop strategies that will assist you in unloading the emotional burden you are carrying.
I use strategies from a few models to ensure I am better able to meet your unique needs and goals and respond to the issue(s) that brings you to therapy. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed, and Reality Therapy.
Session and Fee Info:
- Free 30-minute phone consultation where I will get some information about your concerns, and answer any of your online therapy questions.
- $130 for each 60-minute or $195 for each 90-minute online therapy session.
Over the last 20 years, I have worked in community-based, non-profit agencies to support youth, young adults, adults, and families through difficult situations. Online psychotherapy provides flexible supports to individuals, couples, and families throughout the province with no commute or parking required!
I look forward to getting to know you!
