Roberta Taylor, RN, MEd, BCC

I am a Psychiatric Nurse with a Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology and Board Certification in Coaching.  In addition, I have certification in Life Planning, Retirement Transition Planning, Couples and Communication, and Money Coaching.

My own midlife transition led to the development of  Pathmaking for Life and working with individuals and couples 50 and over who are planning for "what's next".

 I am passionate about helping my clients:
  •   Explore options
  •  Set goals
  •  Overcome obstacles
  •   Create fulfilling lives with purpose and meaning

Midlife is an opportunity for stepping back and asking yourself:

  * Is my work fulfilling?
  * Do I utilize my talents, skills and gifts in ways that are satisfying?
  * What do I need and value at this point in my life?
  * What are my dreams and goals for the future?
  * Am I willing to step out of my comfort and take the risk to have what I really want in my life?

I specialize in working with people who need support in navigating life transitions.

Working with people in midlife and beyond who are going through major life transitions has given me a deep understand and perspective on  the opportunities, possibilities, challenges, obstacles and resilience as we age.

Transitions are triggered by life events such as: divorce, being widowed, job loss, retirement, career change or re-defining work, children leaving home, personal illness or death of a loved one. We experience transitions throughout life. A transition signifies the end of one thing and beginning of another.

In addition to grieving the loss of what was, the time between an ending and what's next can be difficult. Willam Bridges who wrote extensively on Transitions called the period between what was and what's next, the neutral zone. This period can be filled with fear, doubts and uncertainty.
Therapy and/or coaching is beneficial during times of transition.

“The Couples Retirement Puzzle: 10 Must-Have Conversations for Creating an Amazing New Life Together" is a book I co-authored to help guide individuals and couples successfully navigate retirement transition.
