Do you experience anxiety or depression? Do you struggle with rumination, negative thoughts, social anxiety, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviours, panic, avoidance, procrastination, health anxiety, low mood, loss of interest in activities or hobbies, sleep difficulties, or worry about the future?

I can offer you Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) for anxiety and/or depression. With evidence based therapies, I can help you resolve anxiety and depression so you can get your life back on track.

CBT is a short-term, skills-oriented therapy that will help you learn the tools to resolve anxiety. During our time together, I can help you learn many new skills. For example, I can help you learn mindfulness and meditation exercises, identify unhelpful thinking patterns, journal your thoughts and feelings, complete exposure and response prevention exercises, learn progressive muscle relaxation strategies, experience guided imagery, re-engage with hobbies and interests through behavioural activation, and complete gradual exposure based exercises. With CBT skills, I can help you change patterns of thinking and behavior that maintain anxiety so you can get back to living your life.

IPT is a brief, relationship-focused therapy that helps you resolve interpersonal problems that maintain depression. With IPT, I can help you learn about the connection between interpersonal relationships and mood, address interpersonal conflict, navigate life transitions, work through grief and loss, and explore new interpersonal skills. By improving your relationships, I can help you resolve depression.

 
CBT and IPT are evidence based therapies; both therapies have been researched extensively. CBT is an effective therapy for anxiety and IPT is an effective therapy for depression. With these evidence-based therapies, I offer a short-term, skills-oriented, evidence based collaborative approach to counselling that can resolve anxiety and depression.

I charge a flat rate of 100.00 per 50-minute session. At the end of each session, I will prepare a receipt for you. My office is located in the West Kelowna area.

I have helped many youth and adult clients in the Okanagan area resolve anxiety and depression. I have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia. I have additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. I have over a decade of clinical experience working in the field of adolescent and adult psychiatry in hospital and community settings.
