I have been interested in psychology for as long as I can remember. Relationships are the most important aspect of my life – this includes my relationship with God, as well as my relationships with family, friends, colleagues, and clients. Through personal experience, I have learned how difficult it is to build healthy relationships – with others and with myself. God loves us so much that he gave us free will, and while it is a blessing, it is also a hefty responsibility. Sometimes it leads to harmful choices and behaviors. We harm ourselves and others, as they also harm us. I strongly desire to help people heal from these harmful experiences and to help them let go of the guilt they might carry as a result. I believe that it is possible for every single person to heal from past or present wounds so that he or she can live a full, loving, and present life.
I enjoy working with men, women, couples, teens, kids, and families who are struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, trouble in school or work, various types of trauma, issues concerning spirituality, sexual orientation, suicide, bereavement, or anything keeping one from living his or her best life. My primary goal when working with a client is to help him or her get to the core of whatever he or she is facing, no matter what the issue is – I seek to provide a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental presence for my clients as they courageously journey deep within themselves and their relationships. I am primarily person-centered, though I do adjust my approach when to do so would benefit the client.  I am originally from Orlando and hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. I obtained my Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Orlando. I am trained in EMDR – an effective treatment method for trauma, limiting beliefs, and any other issues or experiences in which my clients wish to find healing. I often utilize additional therapy approaches such as Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Expressive Arts. I am also trained in Trust Based Relational Interventions (TRBI).
After a long search (which included kissing a few frogs along the way), I am recently married to an exceptional man and enjoy spending time with him and our beloved dog, Spanky. We enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, biking, hiking, and wildlife watching, as well as traveling and spending time with family and friends.
