I am passionate about maximizing enjoyment and life! I have had my share of suffering (and done with it!). I was a homeless teen once. I was so used to being in survival mode that I didn’t realize my abilities to connect and make optimal decisions were deeply affected well into adulthood. My survival mode carried on as a young single parent. I also did not realize that I am a neurodivergent person trying to fit into a neurotypical world. With much work, I have learned to align myself with my values and embrace my ADHD. As a counsellor, I want to pay it forward and help others experience what is possible.
My positive psychology approach to counselling is to offer a safe space to cry, laugh, to be heard, and to reflect. Counselling is an opportunity to resolve and leave behind the past, envision the future, to create action plans, to pick up tools, to experiment, and to practice new behaviours and ways of thinking. You already have inherent strength and resilience. I will walk by your side and support you, so you can find your way and live life to the fullest.
In addition to working with adults, I am experienced in working with teens. I am experience in work with youth with a variety of concerns, including substance use, anxiety, suicide ideation, trauma, self-esteem, mental illness, and coming of age uncertainties such as employment goals and relationships.
My areas of focus:
  • ADHD
  • Learning disabilities & giftedness
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Anger
  • Self-esteem
  • Communication difficulties

 Benefits of counselling:
  • Increase self-confidence & assertiveness
  • Improve relationships & friendships
  • Take control of anxiety & seize opportunities
  • Less battling, more peace & enjoyment

I am trauma-informed and use a combination of therapies that draw on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and narrative therapy.
In addition to counselling, I’m trained in the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach and in National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) educational therapy for the remediation of learning disabilities.
I work with individuals age 12+. I offer a free 15min consultation, in person or online, to see if we would be a good fit and for you to ask any questions. Please feel free to reach out!
