I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology degree.  I have been working as a certified psychotherapist in the Winnipeg area for over 7 years and within the mental health field for over 16 years.  I have worked in a wide variety of settings: from working in the public school as a counsellor to working as a mental health clinician/counsellor within a community setting with adults.
Do you ever think about whether you handle certain areas of life well?  Feel you are not where you want to be, have too much going on, are stressed, put yourself last, and sometimes struggle with letting things go?  If so, I invite you to meet with me so we can explore what is going on.
Together we can:
  • Explore your needs and boundaries
  • Find freedom from shame, self-blame, and worry
  • Heal from past relationships and situations
  • Improve your relationships
  • Learn about helpful tools for navigating life's challenges

When we work together, you can expect that I will meet you where you are at, treat you with respect and dignity, and make sure the therapeutic approaches I use fit your specific concerns.
My core values that guide my life and my time with you are:
  • Expectancy
  • Encouragement
  • Connection
  • Health
  • Grace

In terms of my areas of practice, my current specialties are:
  • Anxiety
  • Relationships
  • Boundaries
  • Depression
  • Life and Cultural Transitions
  • Personal Growth

The therapeutic approaches I may use when working with you are:
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Person-Centered Therapy

Imagine what it would feel like to not constantly worry about things or to have the motivation to enjoy life and do the things you have always dreamed of doing.  Therapy can help you find new ways of coping with daily stress or help heal old wounds. I can help you alleviate symptoms of depression or anxiety and allow you to feel more at easy, ready to participate in life more fully.
I believe what we think, how we feel, what we say, and what we do comes from what is in our hearts.  There have been many times in my life where what I thought, felt, said, and did showed me that my heart needed help and healing.  Past experiences that I had no control over, my upbringing, and some choices I made all contributed to my heart not being as well or as healthy as it could be.  Perhaps this is the same for you.  If so, I want you to know that it's not your fault and there is hope.
