I am a Registered Psychotherapist and am currently working with a wide variety of clients and life issues, using a CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) framework. Some of the problems I am currently working with include, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, anger management, addiction, self-esteem couples counselling, grief, stress management, teen issues, and more. I work with clients from age 10 and up. I enjoy working with children, teens and adults, including couples and families.
I have worked with children, teens, and adults from various walks of life in Ontario. At the beginning of my career I was a counselor in school settings, helping children with traumatic brain injuries, varying degrees of mental illness, family issues, and identity disorders, providing them with support and guidance, and helping them to cope, heal, and move on to become healthy, functional adults.
I have also worked in Residential Counselling environments helping teens, children and adults with varying degrees of mental illness and developmental delays, using techniques such as music and play therapy.
I obtained a Bachelor Honours Degree in Women Studies and Psychology from Laurentian University and completed a Master of Counselling Psychology Degree through Yorkville University.
My vast experiences with a varied population of clientele and my continuing education have equipped me with a valuable and unique skill set. Along with my empathy and passion, my drive to help others enables me to be a dedicated, effective, and successful Psychotherapist.
