Shelly Teske-Hulan is a Registered Psychologist with over 10 years experience working in a supportive role with individuals and families. Her background includes working as an elementary teacher as well as working in a counselling role providing one to one and group support to those affected by brain injury. Shelly's professional experience involves supporting others as they work through a wide range of circumstances including emotional challenges such as depression and anxiety, traumatic events, family of origin issues, grief and loss, as well as stress and burnout. Shelly draws from various therapeutic orientations, including cognitive behavioural therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), narrative therapy, and solution focused therapy. Each person's unique situation helps to determine tools or techniques used in therapy; therefore, counselling approaches vary according to individual circumstances.
Shelly currently works in a private practice setting and is passionate about supporting others as they continue to work toward their potential of personal wellness and healthy living. She utilizes a collaborative approach that focuses on the client's goals and that draws upon the strengths, resources and supports that are uniquely available to each individual.
