If you are reading this introduction, you might just be ready to give yourself the gift of professional support for whatever the reasons you are seeking out counselling. Therapy can offer an unique opportunity to grow in ways that you had not previously imagined, but do want. I am here to help.
Do you feel that you are suffering in your life due to events that have happened to you and as a result struggle to feel fulfilled in your career, in your relationships, and even in the relationship with yourself. Do you find yourself feeling depressed, anxious, withdrawn, and hopeless. Do you want more for yourself and your relationships; and in your life but do not know how to get there.
My goal is to help my clients reconnect with themselves and to come to a deeper understanding and way of being in the world. Your pain and suffering can be transformed by developing a different way of being with yourself that is nurturing and caring. This transformation is done through the therapeutic relationship and acts as a bridge to your own experience of being you. The benefits of this type of experiencing is that it allows you to be open to giving and receiving at a deeper moment to moment basis that cannot be done when one is not connected or caring for one’s own self.
I provide a safe and compassionate environment where we will explore your struggles and challenges and work to transform this into insight and understanding, stemming from your wisdom and strength. This transformation happens by focusing on you and your emotional, physical, and mental experiences of your struggles in order to be free from the pain of this way of being. Together we will explore how you have survived thus far and work to re-create a way of living that is hopeful and meaningful and which will allow you to be more accepting of who you are and your own journey in life.
I am a member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. I also hold a Bachelor of Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Please feel free to call me if you would like more information on the type of work I do; and to see if I might be a good fit for what you are looking for with regards to counselling and therapy.
