Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow.
You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you.
In my work, I support clients who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, guilt and shame, issues with career and relationships, grief and loss. As someone with a mixed racial and cultural background, I bring a depth of multi-cultural experience and understanding to my work and our therapeutic relationship. I consider it a great privilege to work with people from diverse backgrounds including gender, age, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender expression. I strive to be inclusive, welcoming, and accepting of everyone I meet and have the pleasure of working with.
During the initial sessions, we will explore your current difficulties and gather information on your personal history and life experiences. We will also talk about what is important to you and collaboratively set goals for your therapy. I will provide a warm, respectful, and compassionate space for you, free of judgment. Together, we will begin to explore the issues you are facing by focusing on your unique experience, including your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. We will work together to help you identify and understand your thoughts and emotions, gain new insight into your behaviours, consider new perspectives, and develop the skills and resilience you need to make positive changes.
I know that no single approach is right for every person, so I use a range of approaches including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based therapy, and humanistic-existential therapy.
My practice specializes in treating individuals, couples and families, and I’m confident that no problem is too great to overcome. Through therapy, there is always a way to address the issues you face and learn coping strategies to help you both right now and in the future.
If you’re interested in becoming a better, happier, more fulfilled you, I’d love to work with you every step of the way. Please contact me today!
