Stamatina (Tina) Nikolaou strives to thoroughly her understand clients’ challenges and strengths. She will collaborate with clients to identify and achieve effective, creative, and unique solutions in order to overcome the challenges they are facing. In working with couples, she tries to make the process of counselling rewarding and enjoyable, for both partners by helping them to foster greater appreciation for each other while at the same time working to resolve areas of conflict.
Life can be full of challenges, but through utilizing one's strengths and learn new ways to approach difficulties clients can overcome the challenges that can lead them to build confident and become stronger than before. Counselling and therapy offer a variety of positive benefits that can help to enhance life. Counselling can assist to gain a deeper knowledge of oneself and a greater understanding of others. Counselling can help improve self-esteem, and gain insight into personal relationships. Counselling can improve self-awareness, well being, and heath. It offers the chance to improve one's life and comes with an overall feeling of positive change that manifests into a more gratifying and productive life. It can make you feel more prepared, inspired, and motivated by becoming equip with a variety of tools, techniques, strategies and insights that can help to overcome challenges that will occur in one's life. 
Tina attained a Master in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary through Campus Alberta. She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Calgary. In addition, Stamatina has a diploma in School Psychology and has completed Levels I & II of Gottman Couples Training, EMDR, Clinical Training in Hypnosis and Level I Introductory Theraplay.
Tina works with adults, couples, teens and children. She specializes in anxiety, depression, assertiveness, eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, stress reduction, postpartum depression, parenting and relationship counselling. 
Tina has been married for 14 years and has four amazing daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and reading and has a passion for learning. She also enjoys participating in hot yoga, Zumba, golf and running.  
Tina has daytime, evening and Saturday appointments available. Appointments are typically 60 minutes, although 90 minute session are also available.
Tina has a fee of $165 for 60 minutes sessions. This is for individual, couple of family therapy. If a client is having financial struggles, a sliding fee scale is possible on a case to case basis.
