My name is Stefanie Robison and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with clients suffering from a variety of issues including anxiety, obsessive thoughts/compulsions (OCD), addictions, eating disorders, relationship issues, and depression. My treatment approach is tailored to each individual's needs and typically incorporates a variety of different therapies to treat the specific issue(s). These therapies may include cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
Life can be overwhelming. It is easy to get stuck in a cycle of anxiety, hopelessness, frustration and/or sadness making your days that much harder. Talking can help you feel in control and allow you to believe in yourself once again. My job is to help you find your inner strength and foster your self-esteem in areas where it may have been lost. I believe that through understanding and compassion, I can help you find those problematic emotions that can wreak havoc in a world that is already filled with chaos. My background includes work in anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders and substance abuse. In our time together we will work toward developing new coping skills to help discover those personal strengths waiting to be untapped.
I received my Bachelor's degree from Boston University and my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. I am currently affiliated with the American Counseling Association, as well as, the Albert Ellis Institute.
My work experience includes individual and group therapy for the Mental Health Association of New York City as well as Jersey City Medical Center in the Outpatient Children’s Behavioral Unit. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a complimentary phone consultation.
