“Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you, doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone.” - Lisa Olivera.
Ups and downs in life are natural - the ride is more of a down versus up, and it is in those moments when we actually feel stuck! May be it’s your individual self or your relationship that is going through basic human experiences - emotions such as pain or suffering - that cannot be discounted. As a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapist, I am here to support you in this journey where you feel respected, seen and heard. My areas of focus include trauma, mood disorders and relationships.
I aim to provide you a safe haven that supports expression and healing, facilitates growth and self-discovery, and to work collaboratively with you through trust and connection to reach your goals in therapy. There will be moments of “validation of experiences” and “calling a spade a spade” ( a rollercoaster ride of self-discovery for sure!).
I've had experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, trauma survivors, couples and people with other mental health concerns. I am constantly inspired by the creativity and resilience of the people I have the privilege of working with.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I integrate various therapeutic techniques into my practice including: emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy cognitive processing therapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy skills and internal family systems therapy.
I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples therapy.
I invite you to reach out to discuss the possibility of working together and look forward to hearing from you!
