It is not only my natural fascination with relationships that drew me to become a psychotherapist, but also the many losses I experienced between the ages of 18 and 25. The loss of my father was the loss that finally found me in a therapy office and my journey to deeper self awareness and then eventually to walking with others through their pain began. I have always been an accepting person and a sensitive person, and becoming a therapist felt like putting structure and purpose to my natural inclinations. My courageous clients who have trusted me with their vulnerabilities, their truth and their pain have made this path an endlessly fascinating and rewarding one.
I believe that my work is to find the spirit in each person and to discover the way to connect with their authentic self. It is in this relational process of discovering the other and helping them to discover and embrace themselves that I have found that the healing occurs. The therapeutic relationship is not an easy one - it can be confronting and uncomfortable - to help with this, I aim to develop a therapeutic relationship that feels life affirming and provides you with a secure base from which you can go to the challenging places in yourself while being supported. Then you can go out into the world and try out more authentic ways of being. You will have a safe relationship to return to where you can reflect on your ever changing, ever evolving, ever learning self and gather the strength and commitment to continue to grow and thrive.
