Meet Tarah:

As someone who used to struggle with Depression and Post Partum Depression, I understand what it feels like to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders.

I also understand the feeling of never quite being able to get ahead in life. Sometimes it can feel like the world is against you.

Life can feel overwhelming and so hard at times. I truly understand that feeling. I've been there, overcame those challenges, and can help you find peace and joy too! I work together with my certified therapy dog (a hypoallergenic breed) who makes therapy more comfortable and enjoyable.

My true passion is helping people take control back over their lives, increase true happiness, and discover their inner strength. No one should have to struggle all alone. Let me help!

 How Therapy Can Help:
Therapy is a process like no other. It's a chance for you to feel truly heard and understood without judgement.

Therapy can help:
  • Heal emotional traumas and wounds (sometimes we have memories that we don't identify as "trauma," but they actually shaped our current ways of being).
  • Give you tools to manage and decrease anxiety.
  • Elevate your mood so that you feel positive a majority of the time.
  • Improve relationships so you feel fully supported and cared for.
  • Improve work performance.
  • Get clarity about what you really want from life.
  • Increase your self-confidence so you feel like you can accomplish anything life throws your way.
  • Become an even better parent and feel really good about fulfilling that role.
  • Help you finally stick with your goals and accomplish them.
  • Reduce your overall stress level.
  • Plus so much more!

What is Therapy Like?

Great question! Each session is typically 50-55 minutes long and completely confidential.  We spend that time exploring issues that are getting in the way of you having the life your truly desire. You'll have a chance to process through complicated feelings in a non-judgmental setting. Trust me, I've pretty much heard it all.  No judgement here!

Some common topics that are explored in therapy sessions with me:
  • How to become a more balanced and patient parent.
  • Learning how to say "no" without feeling guilty.
  • Learning how to accept love and support from others without feeling guilty.
  • Overeating or using food to self-medicate.
  • Fear of flying, death, loss of control, etc.
  • Traumatic experiences as a child that continues to impact present behaviors.
  • Grief and loss of loved ones.
  • Overcoming perfectionism.
  • How to cope with chronic pain and/or illness.
  • How to reduce stress and cope with daily life.
  • Working through divorce or break ups.
  • Difficulty adjusting to becoming a new mother.
  • Grief and stress due to infertility.
  • Teen issues. Let's face it, being a teen today is hard!
  • Just because it's not listed doesn't mean it can't be talked about in therapy.

Therapy is a time for you to use however you see fit. If something isn't working for you, let me know and we'll reassess how to better meet your needs.
