Description/Mission: The mission of the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA) is to promote the mental health and wellbeing of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Since its founding, NAAPIMHA strives to raise awareness of the role of mental health in an individual’s health and well-being, especially in Asian American Pacific Islander communities throughout the country. Training Services: Achieving Whole Health – The Achieving Whole Health training provides a creative, interactive and culturally relevant way of improving both health and mental health outcomes for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islander communities. It fills a critical need by drawing on the strengths of paraprofessional staff and community members to train them to become Wellness Coaches. They learn how to take an active role in improving their own health as well as learning ways to help others.
