Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion unless it gets out of control and turns destructive. This leads to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. I work with clients to help them take back control of their emotions. We start by identifying the feelings attached to anger to uncover ways to express these emotions without causing harm to relationships.

Has someone told you that you are getting way too stressed out about things?I will help you learn to communicate your thoughts without becoming confrontational. Do you even know what your positive traits are anymore? We’ll discuss them and also that anger is more of a secondary emotion to more primary feelings such as fear, guilt, shame, powerlessness, or sadness. Together, we will identify the triggers that upset you, so that you can be more self-aware and develop coping skills. Reducing anger will improve your self-image, patience, interactions with family and career success, while reducing health issues such as headache and backaches. I DO NOT DO Court Mandated Anger Management

Anger is often triggered by an underlying emotion such as sadness, disappointment but comes out in a way that protects these feelings. Some anger can be healthy; as in being angry enough at a growing waistline to sign up for the gym or speaking up when boundaries get crossed over and over. Through using cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques, clients can learn to communicate in ways that meet their needs and still respect the needs of others.

Famous quote, He who angers me, conquers me. I try to live by this thought. Anger can destroy you and keep you stuck. I can offer you a safe place to discuss what is causing anger and learn techniques to remain calm in stressful situations. Feeling angry is a normal response but the behaviors and actions that follow may be destructive and need to be corrected. I can help.

Many of us learned in life that we're powerless, unable to change the very things that so deeply impact and hurt us, robbing us of happiness and success. It makes us angry, resentful, and full of rage. But you don't have to be a prisoner of that neverending dynamic. Learn to face you hurts, take responsibility for your needs, and tools for healthy, constructive emotional expression that builds relationships.

Healthy anger is intended to communicate a problem in relationship that needs attention. It is intended to say this is important take it seriously. Many people think of anger as the blaming, yelling, controlling behavior that is destructive to relationships, and prevents healthy communication. Those with a genuine desire to change can learn to manage their feelings in healthy ways that build rather then destroy relationships. I work with clients to help them identify and manage their feelings and needs and direct their actions toward self-confidence, and empathy for others.

Together we will look at where the anger is truly coming from. We will look at past family patterns that may have handed this down to you. We will look at your current situation and see perhaps who you are really angry at. Sometimes it is not who or what you think. We will work on tactics to release your angry in a healthy manner and see what is under the anger.

In my practice I help clients explore, in a safe environment, the source of their anger. I supply various tools to help when anger emerges that allow alternative strategies to deal with every day life stresses and people. Having tools promotes healthy personal relationships and a happier more satisfying, sucessful life. Venues such as spirituality, meditation, writing and continuing with counseling when needed. This is a safe place for compassion and understanding.

Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of anger management in a very humane yet fresh perspective. You see, anger is a normal emotion but it is the valence (intensity) as well as the coupling choice of what one does with this that is the problem. Telling someone to "not" do it or modifying behavior with a trite psychological plan that only breeds a compliant response is not the way to change anger. Brainwave optimization is a new cutting edge technology that allows one to rewire circuitry responsible for reactivity driving the anger. I work with the client in regards to current anger, past history of anger, and family history of anger. I work with the client to identify current stress, and to especially identify emotions including sadness, fear, confusion, and to identify coping skills to either work with family members, a boss, or co-workers. I feel that improving communication skills, problem solving skills, and developing a strong support network are vital to better understand and work regarding anger in a healthy, non-threatening way.
