Anger is a healthy emotion and needs to be given a space to be experienced/felt, just as sadness, happiness/joy, and fear does. It is not anger itself that is "bad," rather it is how this emotion is expressed that is important. When our anger leads us to hurt other people or objects, we are not expressing our anger in a healthy manner. For individuals who suffer from poor impulse control they may be more likely to react to anger in a destructive manner. I will help my clients learn to experience anger, while at the same time identifying healthy ways in which to express this emotion. I will also assist my clients in identifying possible triggers, as well as ways to cope effectively.
