Anger work is, at a much deeper level, the healing work of loss, blocked goals, unjust treatment, unhealed pain, or other deeper issues. For people of faith, God's Word is clear, "Be angry, and do not sin it it." The FEELING of ANGER is not a sin. Many of my clients receive immediate relief and freedom when this truth is applied to their lives. I encourage my clients to allow the feelings to emerge, be honest about the roots of pain, and uncover the either overt style of expressing anger OR the covert (more Southern) style of Passive-Aggressive anger so that a life of peace may be achieved. Peace is possible. Peace is powerful. Grace for all who feel angry. Peace is on the way!

Noone reacts with anger/rage without a sense of hurt. This usually is a result of feeling disregarded or dismissed. The messages we get are typically- "you - are wrong, don't count, are invalid, invisible, unlovable, bad..etc." This triggers our core hurts. This core hurt reflects our personal issues... We are reactive to what we interpret and what we interpret are our own issues. What we miss and need to do is anchor our own core values to not react to what we interpret. In anger management we learn intentionally engage our core values and strengths rather then these core hurts. We learn to stop habitually reacting and start behaving intentionally.
