I’d like to offer you 3 quick tips on managing the stress or anger in your life. Although I’ve written more extensively on this in other publications, this is just a quick, short list of three things you can do to tone things down a notch and improve your life. First, make sure that you are exercising regularly. While you exercise, become aware of what is bothering you. As you focus on your stressors, let the physiological energy generated by your anger or angst be burned off by your body. Let the exertion cleanse you… body, mind and soul. Anxiety and stress are major stumbling blocks in all of our lives today. You may be experiencing a wide variety of symptoms related to anxiety and stress such as panic attacks, physical ailments, feelings of being trapped, a sense of freezing, angry outbursts, or a desire to run. Fight, flight or freeze responses are normal responses to perceived danger, but may be getting in the way of your daily life. In my work with my clients, I have helped them determine the sources of their anxiety and stress, assisted them in reducing the charged feelings they have been experiencing, and supported them in learning new tools to improve their life.

Looking for a change? Online counseling is convenient, effective, efficient, and confidential.
Everyone experiences anxiety at some point, but for some the anxiety is so frequent or intense that it interferes with their lives or even triggers panic attacks. I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help my clients get a sense of control over their own anxiety. We collaborate to learn skills to reduce the frequency or intensity of the anxious feelings, to tolerate the anxiety when it does occur so they can still function through it, and to practice habits that reduce stress and improve general mental health.
