Many times, child therapists overdo the family system in their quest to seek effective solutions for emotional, learning or behavioral concerns with young children. And many times doctors overpathologize issues that shouldn’t be medicated necessarily. This leaves parents wondering what is the best route for their child? Introducing brainwave optimization technology. A fast, effective, natural, and less expensive way to allow your child's brain to make the optimizing changes it desires to make---on its own! Without any external force, opinion, medication, diagnostic, etc. Contact email@example.com or 877-606-6161.

James Foster & Associates, COUNSELINGNH
540 Chestnut Street, Manchester, New Hampshire 03101
James Foster & Associates provides counseling for children. Some issues that are addressed are behavior problems, school issues, sibling rivalry, divorce, blended families, trauma and stress. The child's parent(s) will come for an initial intake appointment to provide background information of the problem area. The child would then be assessed by the clinician. Upon assessing the child, the Clinician will meet with the parent(s) to discuss the treatment plan and to move forward with play therapy. Parent's participation in either individual and/or collateral appointments may be necessary to process parenting experiences and difficulties with the child.

Children's symptoms of anxiety and depression, in some cases, can be associated with them feeling responsible for, or caught up in the middle of parental conflict. Children under the age of 5 may cry, act out, regress, or try to distract parents. Children age 6 to middle adolescence may try to intervene in the conflict. Cues that parental conflict is too high are: repeated attempts to reduce conflict, withdrawal, or exhibiting acting out behavior. Family therapy is crucial in minimizing the negative feelings for children who are experiencing distress and emotional pain. The strength of family and child therapy is bringing together the family system so the child can feel safe and secure.

I see children ranging from four years old through teenage. I try to make therapy an enjoyable learning experience as much as possible. My goal also is to include parent sessions as you are the long term caregivers and good communication with you is key. We may use play therapy, art therapy, sandtray therapy, family therapy or another modality to help address issues such as anger management, ADHD, behavior problems, social, academic or family issues. In addition, I do cognitive and ADHD assessments as well as diagnostic emotional testing when needed. I also provide parent guidance so you can be less reactive when dealing with your children and learn to set compassionate limits.
