At Christ Centered Counseling we assist children, ages nine and older, with modifying their inappropriate behavior and with learning self-control skills. Children learn cognitive and behavioral skills as they begin to incorporate biblical principles into their lives. Bible stories are utilized to assist children with understanding Christ-like age appropriate behavior.

My master's degree (Cornell) is in child development. Our certified educational therapist provides preventative services to children (5-7 years old) at risk of developing learning disorders (dyscalculia, dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc.) through early intervention using the SEARCH and TEACH programs. SEARCH is the scanning tool that assesses for learning struggles/differences. TEACH is an individualized therapy program based on the SEARCH findings. The SEARCH and TEACH program can identify any vulnerabilities that would lead to a later disability in reading. Once identified, the TEACH therapy specifically targets the areas of weaknesses to make them stronger. Once these rebuilt foundations for learning are in place, the child is able to move forward.
