We believe that counseling is at its best when it deals with your whole self – biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. All are what make you who you are, but we have found that too often the spiritual aspects of our lives are overshadowed by the others, especially when it comes to the world of professional counseling. We are spiritual beings and attempting to process and solve our problems without confronting and involving the spiritual aspects of ourselves and our issues, more often than not, will result in a short term success without any lasting positive results. At Thriveworks Counseling, you’ll find that we don't shy away from the tough issues. Call today! 434-812-4009

As a Christian, I believe it is impossible to fully understand human beings without understanding the Creator in whose image they are made. God has revealed so much about himself, about the way humans were created to operate, about effective and loving relationships between individuals and in the family. Among the riches of the Bible are its instruction in healthy, happy, godly living. In addition, we have the promise of the Holy Spirit actually working within us, providing great hope for transformation. Although some secular psychology has been antithetical to Christian beliefs, I use sound counseling techniques to resolve emotional and relational distress in a clearly Biblical way.

We all struggle. Christian counseling endeavors to honor the way God uses struggle to grow our dependence on him. My hope is that clients will benefit from my desire to see authentic healing in the deepest places: to see broken responses, ways of thinking and relating, self-protective patterns, etc. restored and hearts refreshed in their commitment to God as the true source of our well-being. With a degree in Christian counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, I make a conscious effort to integrate the insights of rigorous psychological science with the timeless truths of the Bible and basic tenets of Christian theology.
