I have worked with many couples who want to have a better life together. I start with you wherever you are at and with what your goals are. My experience has been that the majority of challenges come from poor or lack of communication. Both partners may think they are being very clear in what they share, but in fact they each are not understanding the other. Working as a couple means compromise and having an understanding of what is important to each other and when there are communication breakdowns, having the tools to work through them in a healthy way. It is quite possible to have a much better life together when you learn what is missing and what you need to do to find it.

It’s no secret, relationships can be a struggle. You feel like you’ve tried everything, but nothing seems to make it better. You’ve argued. You’ve ignored one another. You’ve tried to talk it out. And nothing worked. Now what? Communicating and maintaining intimacy as a couple is hard. Sometimes it seems like you are speaking different languages. I utilize my past experience as a family mediator and current experience as a clinical social worker to work collaboratively with couples to assist them in meeting their goals they wish to accomplish as a result of therapy. Typical issues that come up include communication, evaluating the relationship for marriage, evaluating the relationship for divorce, or any other issue that you as a couple are struggling with. Therapy/counseling of this nature is often 3 - 6 months of sessions every other week. Together, we will build on your strengths so that you feel empowered in your healing journey.
