I have great respect for people who are struggling in their life with an overall lack of satisfaction and motivation. I will help you identify those “triggers” that cause your low mood, and to develop coping skills to help you feel better. My clients report that they are able to sense and identify mood fluctuations as a result of our therapy sessions. Clients that are on medication can expect a team approach to their wellness, as I consult with physicians. If you are reading this right now, you or someone you care about is struggling with the ability to sustain important relationships. If you are currently feeling suicidal, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Psychotherapy -- or "talk therapy" -- is an effective treatment for depression. Everyone experiences sadness from time to time. But depression lasts longer, interferes with daily life and can cause physical pain. Fortunately, depression is highly treatable, and getting effective treatment is crucial. Together we will work on helping you develop good coping strategies for dealing with everyday stressors. I can help with identifying negative or distorted thought patterns that contribute to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness that accompany depression. We can pinpoint the life problems that contribute to your depression, and help you understand which aspects of those problems you may be able ....

Grey Matters International, Inc. and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D. handles depression and other emotional disorders in a very unique way. Most of therapy or counseling processes utilize validation, unconditional positive regard, and reframing as common techniques to get someone to heal from their depression. Though this can be helpful, it rarely fixes the core problem behind it and for tough cases we then refer them usually to a psychiatrist for medication which can have tons of side effects. Instead, why not try a natural and arguably more effective way to not just change your mind, but change the brain--where the depression is rooted. Contact us at email@example.com.

I provide clients with a safe place to explore the root causes of their depression. Within the therapeutic relationship, we will also examine how the individual's thoughts, actions and feelings are connected to and feeding into their depression. We will work on breaking these negative cycles and start positive more adaptive ways of thinking, and acting to improve their mood.

My approach to depression therapy begins with helping clients understand it is a treatable illness. I assess their symptoms (sleep, eating problems, lack of focus, irritability, anxiety, sadness) to determine their condition (major depression, situational depression, dysphoria). I also determine whether medication (administered under the supervision of a medical professional) may be necessary in addition to talk therapy. I employ compassionate listening to understand each client's issues and the root causes of their condition and develop a tailored treatment plan.

Hopelessness, despair and melancholy are all words usually used to describe depression. The restoration of hope and optimism is the goal of therapy. The need for appropriate and accurate evaluation/assessment are of paramount importance. Once the clients level of depression has been determined, an individualized treatment plan will be developed accordingly, including mutually agreed upon goals.

Often depression is held in place by thoughts and beliefs that suck the hope out of one's life. Therapy is effective in finding the source of the problem and providing tools for intercepting and changing the problematic thought patterns. Medication may or may not be needed to get the process started. When one gains the ability to envision a rewarding life, it often ends the cycle of depression.
