Are you feeling down? Do you have difficulty getting a good night sleep? Do you lack the energy or interest to do the things you once found interesting? One out of four people will have a depressive episode during their lives. Some suffer from chronic depression. The best approach for chronic depression is medication and talk therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, in particular, can help the client identify, process and alter ideas and thoughts that interfere with adaptive living. Breaking through and restructuring these maladaptive thoughts can alleviate depression. This technique is a collaboration between the therapist and client, and can greatly improve the quality of one's life.
