Many of my clients experience some level of depression either mild, moderate, or severe. I use different therapeutic interventions to help them learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of depression, how to find and use appropriate self-help. Some of my clients are very spiritual and I follow my client's lead in their beliefs and find tools that will help them within their beliefs. For example, the use of meditation, crystals, therapeutic oils, yoga are a few skills and easily implemented tools that my clients use. Additionally, I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to with my clients to help them track moods, and recognize triggers.

So often, depression is a natural response by people who feel overwhelmed by all that is required to engage with and enjoy the world. After 42 years in the field, I have learned that the secret to helping clients get past that overwhelmed feeling requires only two easy steps. First, I listen closely to find out what people's natural strengths, skills, and gifts are. Then I gradually give them very small assignments called "baby steps" that rely on their strengths. Each small change has huge results, and depression soon fades away as each step is achieved.

I work with a depressed nervous system by working with the body. Often we struggle to sleep, eat, or accomplish relatively simple tasks. Our bodies are stuck with the brake on. When our body thinks it is futile, out mind follows quickly thereafter and we begin to tell ourselves how pointless things are and how worthless we are. I work with the whole body to re-regulate the body to enable you to get back to a whole integrated self.
