Family Relationships are often tricky to navigate. I work with families to develop healthier communication patterns and to resolve conflicts that have been difficult to resolve. My approach is Solution Focused and Family Systems oriented. Often people are unaware of the roles they play in their families and how they may be contributing to the continuation of the problem. Helping everyone to understand how they can create positive change in their family is key to creating family harmony. I work with people 16 and older within a family context.

Familial units can oftentimes become caught in cycles of miscommunication and misinterpretation that builds up and solidifies through the years. My approach to working with families is identifying such cycles and unearthing and understanding each member’s intentions. I believe that more often than not, family members have good intentions, and when this is brought to light, defenses can soften, and the healing process can ensue. Usually there is a request for family therapy due to one of it's members in crisis, often a child.
