Experiencing a loss can turn your world upside down. While others' lives continue on, you find yourself hurting and unsure about how to carry on. Perhaps you are experiencing this now. I have worked with many clients, providing a safe space for those grieving the death of a loved one or loss of a significant relationship due to divorce or separation. In our time together, I invite you to share and process any feeling you are experiencing, including shock, anger, depression, confusion, and jealousy. Together we take time to honor your loss and clarify what you need day-to-day moving forward.

I have advanced training and experience in helping people deal with traumatic loss and grief including loss through suicide, accident or needing to put a pet to sleep. My approach helps you reduce disturbing images and bad dreams related to the loss, reduce feelings of guilt, reduce a sense of hopelessness about your future, and reconnect to happy images and memories of the person or pet you lost. I have also helped people with job loss and relationship endings. I also incorporate a six step model for accommodating loss and EMDR Therapy to help reduce the pain of the grief process.

In the presence of warmth and compassion, I help clients to work through the phases and stages of grief at their own pace. When clients have experienced loss due to death, divorce or separation from someone they love, the most important foundation to a healing process is having a therapist who is consistently able to hold that space of unconditional warmth. There is no rushing the process of grief. My professional support provides a steady place to do the work of grieving and healing.

No safer place. No better time. Loss happens to all of us, at some points along our journey. The experience can be intensely painful and even alter the direction of our lives in negative and harmful ways. In times of grief we can either turn to God or away from Him. In His goodness, God will not waste your pain, and can turn your ashes into beauty. Let me help you grieve in a healthy manner, and move forward with hope in spite of what you have faced.

Grief and loss comes in many different shapes and sizes, but the common denominator is that the heart is badly broken. In grief counseling, I help clients explore their broken heart and assist them to learn "to dance with the limp" (Ann Lamott). If you feel like you've experienced a loss of someone or something that was so meaningful to you, you probably feel like a piece of you has been taken away. I will assist you to reconnect with those parts of you that are missing and to learn how to find joy and meaning in your life.

Grief and loss is a part of every life. Sometimes we can become stuck in a rut and be unable to move on with our lives. Having someone come alongside you and help carry that burden can make all the difference. I believe in the healing power of art when words fail and the healing found in the therapeutic relationship. Many are traumatized by the losses they have endured and only need to reach out for help.

Thrive Counseling offers both individual and group grief support programs for grieving children, adolescents and their families/guardians. Dealing with grief because of death and loss of loved ones has never been easy and for parents it’s hard to know which symptoms are normal grief responses and which spell trouble in kids. Grieving the loss of family or friends may go on for years in some cases and can be a life changing situation. Grief is an emotion we wish could be reserved only for adults, but the reality is, grief does not discriminate. That is why it is so important to have caring support in times of bereavement and grief. Children and teens many times have problems dealing with grief bec....

When a beloved person or pet dies, our hearts hurt, sometimes very badly. The loss and grief can be so deep we think we won't ever get over it. Depression, anger, and confusion are common symptoms. We're more vulnerable to getting sick because intense emotions can wreak havoc with our immune systems. You don't have to go through this alone. I'm a safe person with whom to feel all your emotions, even the ones you think you shouldn't have. I won't tell you "just get over it." I'll show you how to resolve the grief as quickly as possible, all the while, honoring your own process and your own timing. You can learn to feel whole again.

Grey Matters International and the work of Kevin J. Fleming, Ph.D approaches issues of grief & loss through the lens of innovation----instead of growing the same neural networks responsible for the pain in weekly therapy sessions, we reset the brain to move forward quicker and efficiently by working on the stuck limbic system so as to empower the person with more success and traction. For no one wants to stay in a grief mode for too long; but when you don’t include the brain in your work with someone, you risk describing the water to them while they drown and calling it success. Contact Grey Matters International, Inc now at firstname.lastname@example.org or 877-606-6161.

Grief and loss is, unfortunately, a normal part of living. There is no single "correct" way to grieve: different cultures and even individuals from the same culture grieve differently. The only consistent feature is that grief takes time. The most effective thing anyone can do for someone grieving is to be there—to listen, to empathize, to walk along with the grief. There is no "fixing" grief. But counseling can help prevent normal grief from developing into major depression or other mental health conditions.

We have all experience loss in one way or another. Whether it be loss of a loved one, career, or dream, we can all identify with the heartbreak that comes from moving on. Often people say "time heals all wounds," and partly that is true, however time itself isn't magic. Time allows us space to be able to process and grieve. When the loss is overwhelming, people often get stuck in the grief. We work with clients to help them get unstuck, honor the loss, heal the wound, and when they are ready - dream new dreams. You do not have to be alone in this grieving process. Let us walk with you through this difficult time.

Although at some time we all experience loss and the grief that follows, there are few life experiences that are lonelier. Summer can gently walk with you through your experience of grief, and help you process your sadness and pain as you move through this difficult time. Although grief and depression are distinct, at times they feel the same, and sometimes loss can precipitate depression. If you feel that you are alone and stuck in your grief, it's probably time to ask for help.
