Licensed through the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, I offer psychotherapy to youth 14+ and adults. My approach is always centered on working with clients in a way that is empowering and based on leveraging the inner wisdom in each person. I have many strategies and options to offer, but clients are the experts in what will and won't work for them. When individuals complete therapy, my goal is for them to say "I worked hard and achieved the results I wanted to achieve - I can do this!" rather than "Tory helped me how to feel better".

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#10899), and a Non-Certified Professional Member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. I use an integrative approach to customize therapy to you: including self-compassion, mindfulness, attachment, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

Psychotherapy is the the term used to describe therapy that is based upon psychological principles and research and delivered, primarily, through verbal interaction. Simply put, psychotherapy is 'talk therapy". It is the interaction between you and a highly trained, caring, compassionate therapist who is willing to walk with you through whatever challenges you might be facing. My approach to psychotherapy is rooted in post-modernism and occupies a systemic lens and strengths-based perspective. I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives, and my role is to help make sense of their experiences and facilitate their confidence in implementing the changes they want to see. Further, I believe that any emotion, reaction or feeling has its place and can be a normal response to specific circumstances. I have extensive training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals.
