I am a Registered Psychotherapist, with over 14 years experience working in an EAP and government settings. Some of the issues I have worked with clients on are depression, anxiety, work stress, relationship issues, parenting issues, and infertility. I have chosen to train in different treatment approaches that research has proven to be effective interventions: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I also have training in Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I use interventions from all these different approaches to help my clients. My clients have said that they appreciate my compassionate and gentle approach.

I take a positive based approach in my counselling. I believe that lasting change happens when you draw out the truths within yourself and your relationships. I do not treat people as problems, as people are people and problems are problems. I do not like lables; I believe people are a lot more than what they may be currently struggling with. I seek to understand the full context of a person, rather than just focusing on a specific issue. I am a Registered Psychotherapist.

I provide a safe & non-judgmental environment for clients to open up on all issues, even deeply buried ones (from early childhood to present), so I can get a sense of the whole picture, ask the right questions, and come up with an effective treatment plan. I’ve successfully worked with many individuals & couples who others had given up on, since they weren’t able to go deep enough. This has allowed me to especially help people who are struggling with emotional or sexual trauma, incest, abuse, porn or sex addiction, sexual dysfunction, intimacy issues & taboos & fears which trap them in shame. I’ve also helped couples heal from deep wounds such as infidelity and build stronger relationships.

Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing. Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better with certain problems or issues. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with medication or other therapies.

Psychotherapy is often a journey into the self, an exploration into the caverns of our mind, our emotions, and our experiences. We will engage jointly in a journey that does not travel in a pre-determined direction. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, it's about honoring your unique narrative and creating a safe space to unpack your fears, hopes, dreams, and struggles. You'll gain self-awareness and practical strategies to create resilience and self-compassion.

People come to counselling not because they don't have answers to their problems, people usually know what they should do, but they can't seem to do them. My role as your pschotherapist is less about telling you what to do (which is actually the easier part), I am here to help you clear away some of the junks that stop you from seeing and "doing" the answers. After that, I will help you reach your goal step by step.
