James Hillman once said, "we've had a hundred years of psychotherapy and the world is getting worse." While there are many occasions where the validation and listening endemic to psychotherapy makes sense, there are times where we overassume that "feeling better" and "changing behavior" are the same. Grey Matters International, Inc. goes after the forgotten brain laws to behavior change that therapists miss when processing hours and hours of dialogues with people. Utilizing a cutting edge technology to facilitate the emotional process of change, we can make the therapy process way more effective, faster, and with less money spent. Salem is the capital city of Oregon and is located in the Willamette Valley sitting along the Willamette River.  The Willamette Valley region has been inhabited by people for the last 5,000 years.  The first Europeans settled the area in the early 1800s trapping for furs and trading out of Astoria, Oregon.  The first permanent settlement in Salem was the Jason Lee Mission founded in the Northern part of Salem that is called Wheatland.  In 1844 the mission was dissolved and the town was begun.  In 1851 the capital was moved from Oregon City to Salem.  There have been three capitol buildings in Salem starting with a statehouse that burned down in 1855.  The second capitol was completed in 1876 and was designed to be similar to the U.S. Capitol building.  Amazingly the second capital was also destroyed by fire in 1935.  The third capitol building is still standing today.  Choosing to work with a counselor in Salem is a great beginning step to overcoming the obstacles that are holding you back from life.

One interesting fact about Salem is that it lies on the 45th parallel which is halfway between the North Pole and the Equator.  The 45th parallel actually runs through the city limits.  Salem has a fairly low elevation ranging from 100 to 800 feet through the metropolitan area.  Salem does have an area that is somewhat hilly in an area known as the Salem hills where elevations are over 1000 feet.  Although Salem itself has a low elevation, the Cascade Mountain range can be seen from the city as can Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, and the coastal mountain range can be seen from the city as well.  The Christian counselor in Salem you choose to work with will be your ally in finding peace and joy for your life.  Like much of western Oregon, Salem has a marine west coast climate with over 40 inches of rain per year.  Although there is a short dry season from mid June through mid September rain falls throughout most of the year.  This rainfall gives Salem a green look throughout the year and a good growing season for many types of vegetation and shrubbery.

Salem is a city that is located in multiple counties- Marion County and Polk County in Oregon. It has a land area of 48.56 square miles and a water area of 0.55 square miles.  The population of Salem is 164,549 people with 57,729 households and a median annual income of $47,191. .
