Psychotherapy is ideally a safe place for clients to begin unpacking their issues to begin looking forward towards their best hopes. While it can certainly be challenging and intimidating, my goal is to help clients embrace the discomfort in exploring these tough issues to ideally imagine a better future to ultimately pursue. While my practice can center around resolution of goals, I also believe some people just need a trained clinician to talk to in a less goal-oriented formal matter.

Psychotherapy is a dynamic process that provides great explanations for understanding human behavior. Personality development begins during the first years of life. Children born into warm and empathic environments are likely to grow into healthy adults. If this nurturing is absent personality disorders can develop. Psychotherapy explains some of these derailments. Without help many people continue to function in dysfunctional ways. The barriers erected to survive in the past become harmful to their present situation. Psychotherapy helps people re-gain a feeling of safety and self esteem. Through this restoration people are then able to begin enjoying more meaningful relationships.

My approach involves drawing on various modalities (e.g., dialogic, narrative, solution-focused, emotion-focused) that fit the unique needs of clients. I hope to create an environment for clients where they feel a sense of safety to express their reflections, thoughts, and concerns. I take on a non-judgmental, non-expert stance and firmly believe that clients have everything that they need already within them- my role is to simply remind you of who you are or to help you discover who you would like to be through supportive, therapeutic conversations. If you are interested in learning more about my approach and to see if we would be a good fit, please contact me for a free consultation.

About Windsor, ON

Detroit, Lasalle, Tecumseh, Essex, Lakeshore, Amherstburg, Lincoln Park

Windsor is south of Detroit, and the most southern city in Canada; thus, in order to get to the United States, one would have to travel north to the border.  Additionally, the only thing that separates Windsor from Detroit is the Detroit River.  The city was first settled in 1748 by a French agricultural settlement.  However, the first inhabitants were actually the Native Americans.  The original name was penned Petite Cote, meaning Little Coast, but soon became known as La Cote de Misere, Poverty coast due to the sandy soil.  Many of the street names reflect the high French settlement in the area.  If you are struggling with depression, a counsellor Windsor, ON can provide the therapy you truly need to feel better again. A Windsor therapist and counselor understands the struggle you are going through and is there at the ready to lend a hand. French is still spoken in the area, along with some of the surrounding areas.  The grid system of the streets reflects the French method where the farms were long and narrow along the river.  In 1794, the Sandwich neighborhood was established on the west side of Windsor and has one of the city’s oldest buildings—Mackenzie Hall.

In 1837, the city was the site of the Battle of Windsor during the Upper Canada Rebellion, as well as the Patriot War during the same year.  A fire swept through Windsor in 1871 destroying a majority of the buildings.  Windsor was officially made a city in 1892.  The naming of the city was under a lot of controversy, with many different names being offered up, such as South Detroit, The Ferry, due to the ferries that linked Detroit with Windsor, Richmond, which was the second favorite, and Windsor, which ultimately won out.  The name is for a castle in Berkshire England.  When spiritual healing becomes an important part of therapy, see a Christian counsellor Windsor ON who will provide critical tools to help you gain a deeper insight into your life. A Windsor counselor can illuminate truth into your life that can bring great benefits for years to come. Locate a therapist Windsor ON by using Theravive's directory of professional counsellors. The city grew, incorporating the neighborhoods, which are now historic neighborhoods, Sandwich, Ford City and Walkerville.  The city’s economy is primarily based on manufacturing, education, government services and tourism.  Windsor is one of Canada’s major auto manufacturing and is headquarters for Chrysler Canada.  There are also several pharmaceutical companies that are headquartered in Windsor.
