Bring the whole family to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Teenagers and younger children alike are going to love a family outing to the Beardsley Zoo, home to over 300 species of animals, including several threatened and endangered species.1 And the whole family will love exploring the three floors of the Barnum Museum, founded by the famous circus entertainer himself. The kids will have a blast while they're learning. Or, if you prefer a day outside, the whole carload can enjoy a day of boating, hiking, fishing and swimming at Seaside Park. Mothers can take the whole group to a live show at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre, where something is going on all the time and the Children's company is a crowd favorite. If you prefer Hollywood fare, you can find a movie for everyone at the Regal Stratford Square Cinema. You'll find plenty of interesting things to do year round in Bridgeport.

The limitations of a persistent and severe psychiatric illness can be profound. One of the more difficult aspects of coping with this as an adult is the challenge of finding employment with such a condition. Even when in recovery, or fully recovered, the lingering stigma of mental illness can be detrimental to success. At any given time, millions of adults with mental illness are unemployed.3 Bridge House helps adults who are being treated or have recovered from a mental illness find employment through their weekly Job Club meetings and transitional employment, supported employment, and independent employment programs.4 To find out more, contact Bridge House at (203) 335-5339.
