The East Durham Children's Initiative was devised to provide social, emotional, academic, and health-related support services to children from the time they are born until they graduate from high school. By delivering these longitudinal services, children have the resources they need to obtain health care and mental health services, have success in school, foster positive relationships with family and peers, and the tools they need to achieve their post-secondary and workplace goals. Support programs are offered directly to children and their families in their homes, at schools, and in the community to ensure there are no gaps in services.
