Helping young people learn how to evaluate their feelings and express them appropriately is the central focus of the Anger Management for Teens class offered by the Saratoga Center for the Family. Kids will learn what makes them angry, how to recognize when they are becoming mad, and how to deal with their feelings in a healthy and balanced manner. Teens meet to share and learn once a week for the duration of the four-week program. Registration for the program can be completed by calling 518-587-8008, extension 314.2

Bullying in schools can greatly impact a child's ability to learn, make friends, and develop positive self-esteem in the long-term.3 To help prevent harassment and intimidation from occurring, the Saratoga Springs City School District has implemented the Dignity for All Students Act. This statewide program is aimed at proactive measures to prevent bullying from occurring. Children learn to care for one another, be responsible, and be respectful of those who are unlike themselves. Parents also get involved in the process, by teaching their children appropriate behaviors at home and working closely with the school district to address any issues that arise. Individuals who are going through the trying times of losing a loved one can find comfort in the Grief Support programs offered by the Community Hospice. These programs are available for free for anyone in grief. Contact the Community Hospice at 518-581-0800 for further information.5
