Michelle Williams, best known as part of the chart-topping trio Destiny's Child, says she's seeking help for mental health issues.

The 37-year-old has spoken out about her struggle with depression in the past. Tuesday, she posted on Instagram that she's "sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals."

"For years, I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your well being", she wrote. "I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals. Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need. If you change your mind, you can change your life."

In an interview on "The Talk" last year Williams said she wanted to normalize the conversation on mental illness. She told the hosts "So many people are walking around acting like they've got it all together, and they're suffering." Williams says she believes she was battling depression since the age of 13 or 15, but didn't know it until her 30's. She says at one point, she thought about suicide.

Williams rose to fame as a member of Destiny's Child alongside Kelly Rowland and Beyonce Knowles. The girl-group had great success in the late 90's and early 2000's, and recently reunited for a performance at Coachella.

Beyonce's mother and sister were among the thousands leaving well-wishes on Williams' Instagram post.

Her mother, Tina Lawson, wrote: "Michelle My Belle, I'm soo proud of you! You have given unselfishly of your time and support to so many and I know that you will be the best example of self care which we all need. Keep being a warrior and an advocate for you. I love and support you with all my being."

Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, chimed in, leaving a comment: "Love u so Michelle! Really proud of you. Sending u all the love in the world."

Williams is engaged to 40-year-old pastor and life coach Chad Johnson, the couple revealing their engagement to People magazine in April. He also expressed his support on Williams' post, writing "I'm so proud of your courage and commitment in this!! WE are in it together and on an AMAZING journey of watching THE master artist paint a priceless work of art!"

Williams did not give specifics on her treatment.
