The family is the foundation of our society. It is so easy, however, for the family unit to lose focus and fall into a myriad of problems. Sometimes the need is to involve the whole family in counseling to understand the unique dynamics that each member brings. Today there also has to be strong focus on blended families since it is quite prevalent in our society.

When it comes to family therapy, it is important that interaction between you and I are supportive in nature. I approach this in a non judgmental and acting manner. My approach is to understand the family dynamics and gain insight into what is best for the family. We identify the needs and wants to allow a strength based approach to healing. I believe that everyone is important and their voice must be heard and this is encouraged in family therapy.

My 40 years of experience allows me to deal with a large variety of family related issues: step family, living together, dating, marriage, family of origin, gay couples, seniors parent/child issues. I was trained in Family Therapy and wrote a book to help people deal with family related problems. As a family therapist, I look at the larger picture and see how it is impacting the person's current situation. From there I help the person custom design a solution that is unique to them and takes into account how others in their family system will react to the changes they are attempting.
