Understanding one's own anger and feeling like you have a sense of control over it is a process. The first part is exploring the anger. Gaining a greater sense of where the anger is coming from, from its deepest roots, and how it is triggered. Recognizing what your anger is about and how it is triggered is they key to being able to achieve stability in your emotions and a sense of peace and calm.

My approach to working with clients in need of anger management is utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. It is crucial to also utilize strengths perspective with each client and work through what the client is good at and how to use their own individual strengths to their benefit. A great deal of meditation, mindfulness, and grounding techniques will be explored and practiced throughout session to assist the client with navigating through their anger.

Anger can be both useful and destructive, it can motivate or it can destroy. Anger can negatively effect your health and welfare. If your anger is destroying your happiness and your relationships it is time to learn new coping tools. Often times beliefs and expectations can lead to rage and anger. I will help you learn about the belief systems that are not serving you well and coach you towards new belief systems. So often our desire for perfection or fairness lead to high levels of frustration. Learning to tolerate and detach can be tools toward serenity and peace. Forgiveness is not for the other person. It is for you. Learn how to channel your anger towards health and happiness.

Managing our frustrations, irritations, upsets, and angry communication is a major challenge for men and women, children, and teens. Women’s anger is often sublimated as anxiety and incorrectly treated as such. I am interested in helping empower people to work through their anger and transform it into emotional strength. After working through anger issues, clients often report unexpected benefits, including more fulfilling relationships and financial success. Once the anger is overcome and clients develop skills to cope with everyday annoyances, they find themselves able to reach goals that had been thus far unattainable.
