By addressing the underlying issues that cause homelessness, whether its addiction, job loss, or family dysfunction, Hillcrest ensures that families can be self-sufficient once again. Residents get free housing in exchange for finding employment, attending life skills classes, and learning strategies for family budgeting. The church offers free courses for couples that wish to become adoptive or foster parents. Individuals who want to serve as a mentor to an at-risk child can join the Ask-A-Mentor Program. The Respite Care Outreach Program gives families a needed break from caring for a high needs child.
