Victoria A. Walters, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
her Masters Degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University. She has been
providing counseling services since 1990. Prior to working in the mental health
field she was an elementary school teacher.
She especially enjoys working
with children and their families and she specializes in play therapy, trauma
issues, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and abuse. She, along with her husband,
Bill, opened A.C.T. in 1998.
Willam P Walters, License Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider.
Bill received his
Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Western Michigan University.
He also received a Masters of Divinity Degree from St. John's Seminary in
Michigan. He has been working in the mental health field since 1965 and has
extensive experience in trauma issues, depression, anxiety, marriage &
family issues, abuse issues, and sex offender treatment.
He, along with
his wife, Victoria, opened A.C.T. in 1998.
Lance Wright, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Lance received his Masters in Social Work from Norfolk State
University. He has worked in the mental health field since 1993. Lance was
instrumental in helping A.C.T. start it's practice in 1998. In addition to
providing counseling services, Lance owns Wright Choices, Inc., a supported
employment agency that assists mentally/physically disabled people find and
train for jobs and provides supportive services throughout their employment.
Kim Foreman, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kim received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Norfolk State
University. She has been providing counseling services since 1995. She
especially enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families, and
she has experience helping clients with substance abuse issues, anger
management, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, trauma, oppositional
and defiant behaviors, and conduct issues.
Joe New, Licensed Professional Counselor
Joe received his Masters Degree in Education specializing in
Community Counseling from The College of William & Mary. He also has a
Bachelors Degree in Business from Virginia Tech and prior to working in the
mental health field he was President of New-Bell Storage. He has been providing
counseling services since 1997. He also served the Virginia Department of
Rehabilitative Services for 6 years helping disabled adults return to the
workforce. Joe especially enjoys working with adult individuals and couples, and
he has experience helping clients with substance abuse issues, anger management,
grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment issues.
Karla Adkins, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Provider.
Karla received her Master’s Degree in Community/Clinical Psychology
from Norfolk State University. She has been providing counseling services since
1989. She has extensive experience in working with the substance abuse
population, as well as extremely emotionally disturbed children. She has
experience working with a broad population ranging, from young children to
late- aged adults and has worked in various settings which include, In-home,
medium security prison, juvenile corrections, residential and outpatient. Karla
enjoys utilizing creative ways of intervention and has provided direct care for
over 20 years and enjoys her chosen career.
