I have 20 years’ experience as a clinical social worker. In addition to conducting weekly psychotherapy
sessions for individuals, families and groups, I am skilled in writing mental health assessments, providing crisis intervention, and participating in conflict resolution. I provide a comfortable, nonjudgmental and safe space for
you to address your concerns. I understand that the road to emotional wellness can feel painfully challenging and feel awfully lonely, but feelings are not facts and people do get better with help.Since 1993, I have worked as a Staff Psychotherapist, Senior Clinical Supervisor, Program Consultant, Adjunct
Professor, Program Director and Executive Director of an AIDS Housing Corporation. I completed a Seminar in
Social Work Field Instruction at Columbia University, earned an Advanced Training Certificate from the Minuchin Center for Family Therapy, and an Advanced Certificate in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis
Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

I have served as Adjunct Professor at the College of New Rochelle, and Columbia University. In addition,
I have my own business, Legayse Corporation in Newburgh, N.Y., where I reach out and help other non-profit organizations develop responsible programs within their communities.

My background is extensive and reflects the kind of energy and spirit required to continue to build our
communities. My counseling experience includes dealing with issues relating to gerontology, family conflict, domestic violence, child advocacy, program and housing development. I have a sound understanding of the moral and ethical issues and barriers to working with the under-served population, which is essential to community building.
