I greatly respect the courage it takes for clients to begin the counseling process, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many individuals and couples in Clark County for over 25 years as a Mental Health Counselor. I use an eclectic, holistic approach which is tailored to the specific needs of my clients, incorporating the teaching of skills that help improve self esteem, self confidence, intimacy, communication, inner peace, and empowerment. I enjoy working with most issues involving relationships, family of origin, parenting, grief, sadness, guilt, shame, personal growth and more.
Since completing the advanced training in EMDR in 1993, I have been using this method to help clients heal from PTSD, prior abuse, and other traumas. It has been exceedingly rewarding to witness the transformation from fear and other stuck emotions into feelings of freedom, lightness, and relief.
I consider myself a student of life and I have learned (and continue to learn) so much from my own marriage, and from parenting three wonderful children into adulthood. Additionally, prior to becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I taught grades one through six in public elementary schools and English as a Second Language in grades nine through twelve. I received my Master's Degree in Counseling in 1987.
