Aside from the obvious financial difficulties that unemployment and underemployment cause, there are also a variety of mental health issues that can result. Losing a job or working at a job that is unfulfilling can lead to low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness, and even depression. To help Parker residents find adequate employment and resolve their financial difficulties, the Arapahoe/Douglas Workforce Center provides employment counseling, job training, and educational opportunities. The center offers a resource center where job seekers can access current openings, attend an employment workshop, or utilize the copier, computers or fax machine to create and send resumes, cover letters and job applications. By facilitating upward movement in the workforce, the center ensures that all Parker residents have the tools they need to improve their lives. Call 303-636-1160 for more information.4
