Therapist: Working as a clinical psychologist for more than 10 years, my approach to treatment uses Cognitive-Behavioral therapy which focuses on examining and changing thoughts and behavioral patterns that might be standing in the way of a healthy, happy life. Have you ever said to yourself "a part of me thinks it's a good idea but another part of me doesn't" or "there's a part of me that knows what I should do but another part that says don't worry about it?" If you are like most people you may find yourself from time to time being a war with yourself. Another treatment approach I use, Internal Family Systems, specifically addresses the "war within" and helps you to better explore, understand and heal the "self."
Founder: In 2003 I co-founded the Solace Eating Disorder Clinic. The clinic offers intenstive outpatient therapy for the treatment of Anorexia, Bulimia and Compulisive Overeating. This 12-week, skills-based program meets in the late afternoon and evening for 9 hours per week and allows patients to continue with work or school with minimal interruption. Groups focus on specific areas of functioning known to be deficient or weak in individuals who suffer with eating disorders. Self-esteem, nutrition, emotional regulation and expression, and body awareness are some of the areas we address in treatment.
