My nephew once asked, “Do you ever meet people whose problems don’t seem like a big deal?” I told him, “No.” Everybody feels 100% of their pain. Not everyone catches the breaks or gets taught the skills that make life easier. I’m committed to helping you build the strengths and abilities to make yourself as capable as you think you should be.

If you want to:
  • even out your moods,
  • train your nerves to be calm,
  • turn down the heat of your temper,
  • build a closer, stronger relationship,
  • or just move forward with your life,

I’ll provide the personalized support and practical techniques to build the life you want for yourself.

About me:

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervising designation. I rely on evidence-based practices like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and EMDR.

I’ve worked as an editorial assistant, book reviewer and advertising copywriter. I became a therapist when I realized I wouldn’t be happy doing much else. I earned my Masters degree in counseling psychology from Temple University in January, 1998. The real education came from my work with families in tough North Philadelphia neighborhoods. Trauma, depression, anger, anxiety – these became my focus because they came through the door so often. When I moved to a private practice in the suburbs, it became clear how common these problems are throughout our country.

That’s why I specialize in the treatment of:

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Dissociative Disorders

In time, I saw many clients didn't get better because their feelings were too painful to talk about. I completed the foundational training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), because it helps people tolerate those emotions. As a member of the Franklin County, OH's community DBT consultation group, I've presented on DBT to other professionals in the area.

Additionally, I regularly work with clients who face:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Grief

I'm accepting clients at my new individual practice in New Albany, OH. My fee is $125 for private pay, and I also accept Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Caresource, Cigna, Medical Mutual, Molina and OhioHealthy insurance. Call today for a free twenty-minute phone consultation.
