Home of the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo, Chattanooga, TN is located in southeast Tennessee, on two lakes that form part of the Tennessee River. The agency engages in prevention and outreach services in local middle schools and high schools. The Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee provides support groups for individuals that suffer from bulimia or anorexia and their families. Parents, siblings, spouses, and other family members can support one another in the Families Supporting Families group. This free program is offered on an ongoing basis in Chattanooga. A special group for college-aged women is also offered by the agency. Over the course of an eight-week class, participants learn about disordered eating and body image issues, as well as healthy methods to cope with stressors that diminish one's self-concept. This group is offered for free as well.4
