Confidential support for purpose-driven leaders.

Gain skills to restore emotional safety with those who matter most through authentic connection.

I'm Judy Herman. I'm pleased you're taking time to read more. You deserve the right fit in a counselor. I'm intentional to provide emotionally safe environments for you. My online articles may be one of your first stops along the way. They don't substitute for professional counseling, but they could be of assistance as you seek help.
Who I serve:
I serve other therapists, leaders, business professionals, parents, and clergy. Many of us who are people-helpers don't attune to our own emotional and relationship well-being. It's vital we take the time to nurture our own souls.
You're in the right place if you're seeking to get past communication barriers, make sense of a difficult transition or need help with a major decision. You long for connection with your family. You may not have grieved the loss of a dream. You need permission to be your true self, but you may not know what that is.

My credentials:
I'm a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider in Tennessee. Some folks call me Dr. Herman. Although I'm flattered, do know that I'm a Master's level therapist rather than a psychologist. Please call me Judy. I'll feel fully respected and authentic.
I hold two Master’s degrees:  a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University; and a Master of Science in Christian Psychological Studies from Richmont University. I am an Imago-trained Relationship Therapist, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and certified in Critical Incident Stress Management. I also have training in Telemental Health for online counseling.
My Experiences:

I’ve been in private practice since 2006 at Elbow Tree Christian Counseling, LLC.  My calling as a counselor began through my volunteer work and being on staff at Choices Pregnancy Center.
I help clients move beyond difficult situations. I focus ways to strengthen positive and hidden traits. I’m determined to be authentic with you and offer clarity, purpose, and dignity toward your next level of growth.
To me, each person I encounter is a divine appointment with depth of soul.
I have a Christian world-view and nurture my relationship with God through my church involvement, study and reflection of Scripture, and periodic soul care retreats. I honor differences with openness. “Creating Dignity in Relationships, a Life by Design” summarizes my passion in helping others.
More Information About My Development:
I recently wrote an online article: Confessions of a Therapist which will give you more insight about me. My passions are clearer at this stage in my life than they've ever been. I value being self-aware and nurturing relationships with those closest to me. I'm intentional to model my own personal growth and be fully present with clients I meet.  I'd love for you to check out the Home page of my website.    You're in the right place if you're looking for:
  • A Growing and partnered marriage, or more insights about your life and relationships.
  • Skills in empathic communication and ways to be heard and understood.
  • Clarity and follow through in your's life's purpose and mission.
How I can help: I provide quality counseling and consulting services for couples, families, groups, and individuals. I offer three choices of settings:
  • My office
  • Client's office or home
  • Webcam sessions
Whatever your needs are, you have the convenience of scheduling online. In the meantime, feel free to call or leave a message for me. I'd love to hear from you.   Sincerely,  Judy Herman
